Melanie Totten-Jonas is a graduate of Madison Central High School,Old Bridge, NJ. She graduated Suma Cum Laude (the highest honors received) from Kean University, Union, NJ. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Management Science and Bachelor of Arts in English. Melanie has over 12 years experience in gymnastics instruction at all levels, as well as 15 years competitive cheer instruction and 4 years of top ranking fitness competitions, including Fitness America East Coast regional winner. Melanie has appeared in commercials, on promotional posters and calendars and on televisions stations including ESPN, ESPN2 and MSG Network. She is also a nationally certified Cheer Judge. She is presently a member of NAFE, National Association for Female Executives and The University Women's Association, which promotes woman in business.

 

Jeff C. Jonas graduated with honors from Rutgers Prep, Somerset, NJ. He then went on to graduate Cum Laude (with honors) from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. His degree is a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is a graduate of Chubb Institute and has several technology certifications that would allow him to be an incredible lead in the technology development of Jonas Gymnastics Academy. Jeff is President of Caesar Systems Group, Inc. Jeff has also been a competitive bodybuilder for many years, is a Blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and has had many successful entrepreneurial businesses.

Our ideal candidates are team players, mature, career-minded and have a high-energy personality. Qualified USAG applicants should have proven experience with the USAG program, knowledge of skill progressions, desire to work in a professional atmosphere, and be willing to contribute significantly to both our team and recreational programs. For all of our positions, High level spotting (fulls, giants) is a major plus; however, we are willing to train. We fully believe in "Hire the Character, Train the Skill."

Amy
Amy has been coaching for over 5 years. She has completed her Kinder Accreditation for teachers workshop, the Tumble Bear Certification Program and is USAG safety certified. Amy is involved in many aspects of Jonas Gym. She assists with the Joga team as well as our USAG Girls Level 4 team. Amy is also an ABMP certified massage therapist since 2003. We are happy to have Amy on board at Jonas Gym.

Andrea
Andrea has been a cheerleader since the second grade starting off at Holmdel's Pop Warner League and then through four years of High School. She was named Captain of her High School team and was voted All American . She has been coaching cheerleading and tumbling for over five years with ages ranging from youngsters age three through high school girls. Andrea is a certified Pop Warner Cheerleading coach through NCA (National Cheerleader's Association). She has experience cheering at all levels including Pop Warner, High School and All-Star teams. She agrees with the Jonas philosophy where education comes first and is is currently attending Monmouth University where she is majoring in communications and minoring in graphic design. Andrea has been coaching at Jonas for over a year and says she is very excited to be at such a wonderful gym. She enjoys helping the kids learn and Jonas is happy to have her.

Diane is the Customer Service and Front Desk Manager. She has been involved in management for many years and says she is very excited to be with JonasGym. You may also find Diane out on the floor teaching as she is one of Jonas Gym's top requested instructors in the TumbleTots program. Diane loves working with children and is KAT (Kinder Accreditation for Teachers) certified to work with our TumbleTots classes. She has her USAG (USA Gymnastics) safety certification and is first-aid and CPR certified. She is most certainly a wonderful asset to Jonas Gym and its clients.

Drew
Drew is a former Northeastern University (Boston, MA) cheerleader with 16 years of cheerleading experience. Drew has helped coach some High School cheerleading squads, as well as the Sayreville Leprechauns Pop-Warner cheerleaders. Drew was a coach for the Jonas Angel Youth and Junior teams winning FOUR National Championships plus TWO NJCCA State Championship. Drew now does many privates at Jonas specializing in partner stunts and assists with our Angels. In addition to Cheerleading, Drew is a Volunteer EMT on Sayreville Emergency Squad and the Webmaster for www.jonasangels.com, www.JonasGymnastics.com. Due to popular demand he has now opened up a web business called: Up All Night Web Design. He is a great asset to have at Jonas and we are glad he is here.

Eddie G

is our Level 4-6 USAG Boys Team Coach. He is a Master at TaeKwonDo and is USAG Certified, Professionally and Safety. Eddie is well-liked by all his students and peers and has been doing a phenominal job with our Boys Program. We are glad to have him at Jonas.

Eddie J

is our "Go-To" Guy. He works with our USAG Girls program - all levels through Optionals, our Joga Girls team, our Angels All-Star Cheerleaders and our Recreational and Tumbling classes. He also is in high-demand for Private Lessons. Eddie has been coaching for over 15 years and is a great asset to Jonas.

Edmund

is another All-Around Great Performer at Jonas. Edmund works with our USAG Girls - all levels through Optionals and is one of our main coaches for our USAG Boys Team Program. He helped coach our Boys Team to Level 4, 5 and 6 State Champions and Level 5 and 6 Regional Champions. He also coaches Private Lessons as well as our Recreational, Preteam and Tumbling classes. He is a USAG Professional Member and is Safety Certified.

Jacqui

Jacqui has been involved in gymnastics for many years, formerly as a competitive gymnast and now as a competitive coach. She works with all ages and skill levels including Jonas's Parent-Tots, TumbleTots, Rec Classes and Competitive PreTeams. Jacqui has her KAT (Kinder Accreditation for Teachers) certification. Jacqui is our Floor manager and heads up our Sales and Marketing division at Jonas. She also runs our TumbleTaxi Program. We are glad to have her with us at Jonas.

Sasha

Sasha has been involved in gymnastics and films for many years. He attended Temple University on a gymnastics scholarship. As a competitor, his long list of accomplishments and awards include: NJ State Gymnastics Champion on Floor and Vault, Garden State Games All-Around Champion, New Jersey's Governor's Cup Winner, Maryland Cup High Bar and Vaulting Champion and New Jersey's Citgo Champion of the Year. Sasha has also done some pre-film, film stunts and movie trailers for the 1995 film Batman Forever, 1997, Turok Dinosaur Hunter Saturday morning TV pilot and the 2002 HBO series, The Wire. Sasha has coached his competitive gymnasts to become the 2001 and 2002 NJOGL, New Jersey Optional Gymnastics League State Champions in the Level A division. He is USA Gymnastics safety certified. Sasha is now the Head Coach of our USAIGC competitive girls team and has several Nationally ranked girls. He also heads up the USAG elite program at Jonas Gym.

Shannon

Shannon is a graduate of Middlesex County College where she majored in education /early childhood development. She is now a full-time student at Rutger's University majoring in Psychology/Sociology. Shannon has been coaching both cheerleading and gymnastics for over nine years. As a cheerleader, she was a four-time All-American and has won several State individual titles. She has competed at the National/International level where she helped lead her team to a second place finish at the CANAM international competition and first place, Championship title in the partner stunt group. She has coached her competitive cheer teams to State and Regional Championships and has cheer teams that are nationally ranked. She has also directed cheer camps for the Rising Stars Cheerleaders (part of Jonas Gymnastics Academy & Cheer Center) who travel throughout the tri-state area. Shannon is a certified Cheer Judge, safety certified through Cheer Ltd., a Professional member of USA Gymnastics and safety certified through USAG (USA Gymnastics). She has coached the 2002 and the 2003 optional gymnastics team, the Diamonds, to win the Level B and Level C NJOGL State Championships. She choreographs for both cheerleading and gymnastics and will help a part of Jonas Gym's NEW All-Star Cheerleading Team. Shannon is the Gym Director at Jonas Gymnastics.

USAG safety certified and USAG Girls Team Coach. Sonya has recently traveled to Rhode Island and attended the USAG Girls Technical Symposium as well as the Optional League Clinic.

Terry

Terry has her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and an MS Degree in Special Education.  She is a Certified Special Education Teacher for NYC Public Schools since 1981.  Terry has over nine years of gymnastics teaching experience.  She taught gymnastics at Heights & Hill YMCA for three years, The Gym in NYC the Party Gym before coming to Jonas.  Terry works wonderfully with our toddlers and preschoolers in Jonas’s TumbleTot program and is highly requested for one-on-one lessons with many of our special needs children.  She has been with Jonas for about four years now and we are thrilled to have her.
